I Can't Believe It's Almost Here!

I can't believe it's almost time for our quilt show that Terry and I are chairing for our quilt guild.

This isn't just any show; it's our 25th Anniversary Show. Past President quilts will be there, as you saw mine in my last post. (It's so pretty. I got it quilted and sewed on the binding and the hanging sleeve this week.) We got in contact with deceased members families to see if they would want their loved one's quilt in our show. Of course there are many, many more. I personally can't wait to see the 19 quilts commemerating Lincoln's 200th birthday. It will be in the part of the museum that is dedicated to the Kentucky Govenor and Owensboro native, Mr. Ford. Mr. Ford will even have a quilt in the show! Of course we'll have our guilds 25th Anniversary Challenge Quilts, and our Quilt Pink quilts that we auctioned off on e-bay through American Patchwork and Quilting.

I always thank the charter members for thinking of this great idea to start a quilt guild. If it weren't for them I wouldn't have my fabric stash, my 6 sewing machines, my scraps that drive me crazy (not so much anymore after you all "helped" me), threads on my clothes, closets full of UFO's, tons and tons of quilting magazines, and just as many quilting books. I would probably have more money, for sure, but my quilts make my home beautiful, and they keep my friends and family warm. Besides that, it's great therapy.

Terry and I hit the streets today promoting the quilt show. I didn't bring my camera. I should have. We looked so cute walking down the streets of the downtown getting "take out" menus from the restaurants, and letting other little businesses know that there are going to be a ton of ladies in the downtown area. As soon as they handed me their menus, I handed them a hot pink flyer to hang in their window. Am I good at this sales person stuff or what? Besides that, I need to tell my vendors and quilt guild ladies places to eat close by. For some odd reason I have the "need" to take care of them.

Well, bloggy friends, here it is 2:14 am. In a few hours it will be a mad house at the museum setting this show up. We'll be there all day and into the night. Terry and I have so much fun with this. It's work, but it's work that is so beautiful when you're done. I'll show pictures later.
