Most people get (excited) about a new car, diamond earrings, a million dollars,(well, I would get excited about those things, too), but when there are chills on my arms, and I keep making little squeals while skipping from my sewing room, I'm excited!!! I get excited about anything that makes my sewing life easier and opens up a world of opportunities so that I can make more things!
Today I learned a quick and easy way to turn small tubes!!! Yes! That's what's got me so excited. It doesn't take much does it? lol
This little piece of fabric 1 1/8" x 3" is supposed to be sewn together, turned inside out, and made into a little loop to hook onto a button for a bag that I was trying to make.
So, I sewed the long sides together and began to try to turn this thing inside out. I used a bodkin, a small safty pin, my tweezers to help pull. None of that worked. All I got was a hole in my little tube, and some very frayed edges.
Next, I decided that no one would really see this little tube, so I'll just sew it wrong sides together, trim the seam, zigzag the edges of the seam, and...well, that was ugly.
I gave up and went to bed.
This morning I piddled around the house very unmotivated because I didn't know how to turn this darn little tube! Then it occured to me to "Google" it. Here's what I found!!!!!! I did a little squeal, told my husband about it in this really shrill voice, and up stairs to the sewing room I went ready to turn a tube!!!
Ta Da!!!! Isn't she beautiful?
My next post will be about the little bag this beautiful little tube was for. Now if I could only put zippers in bags like Lisa, I will be able to do anything!
