A little while later Steve and I went outside to plant some flowers we had started from seeds, and he found me laying on my little couch (the one on my blog header). I wasn't much help, to say the least.
I went back inside, laid down on the couch again, and I slept, and slept, and slept all day. I ate a small dinner with everyone, and went back to sleep again! Then I went to bed and slept all night!
Steve left this morning to go to work 12 hours away, and I didn't even know he left. When I woke up at 8:00 I called him to ask him why he didn't say goodbye to me. He said that he kissed me three times on the cheek, went downstairs to get a cup of coffee, and then he came back upstairs, kissed me again while hugging me, checked to see if I was alive (lol), and then finally decided he had to go.
The only thing I can figure out is that I am exhausted.
Between the quilt show,
(which is, by the way, in draft form ready to be posted any day now. I sincerely apologize for the delay. I've been working on it, and blogger decided it didn't want to upload photos!),
Steve being on "vacation" (which, by the way...there is no such thing as being home for vacation.
I saw two of my lamb's ears whispering to each other about how Steve and I really should go away for a couple of weeks and forget about yard work. We may take the hint pretty soon!)
babysitting grandbabies who slept on top of me for two nights,
a guild meeting where I had to plan two speeches: the Quilt Show and the bus trip I am coordinating to go to the AQS quilt show in Nashville, TN,
(I really don't know why Sharon is holding her nose and Anna is laughing so hard. I promise I didn't do anything smelly!),
a precious teenager who keeps me busy running the roads,
and housework that I need to catch up on. (There's no photo of my messy house!)
It's a wonder I don't sleep for a week!
So, in between housework and laundry, I hope to post about the quilt show in the next couple of days. Until then, I think I need some more sleep!
Amanda
You look beautiful standing next to your quilt!
ReplyDeleteBut no wonder you are exhausted. Be careful you don't load too much on your plate.
You are making lots of wonderful memories for everyone in your life. :-)
With all of that going on, who wouldn't be exhausted? You'll be caught up before you know it . . . that would make just the right time for a getaway vacation *s*
ReplyDeleteYou know I can so appreciate where you are coming from. I have done the exact same thing a couple of times in the last few months. It's hard for us to realize we are not as young as we once were. Our batteries need recharging sometimes don't they! Can't wait to see you in Nashville, although we will have a new WOOHOO girl with us. Laura isn't going to be at that show with us. At least not to work, she might be attending, I don't remember. She is doing the DesMoines show with us in October though! You should probably come to that show too!!
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful "rest of the summer" and don't work too hard! See ya in August!
Yikes, I'm tired just reading about it.
ReplyDeleteHi Amanda. Thanks for stopping by my site. I appreciate your comments. By the way, how could you possibly have four grandchildren? You look so young! How blessed you are to have such gorgeous grandchildren. I am still waiting for my turn to be a grandma.
ReplyDeleteYou have beautiful quilt work. I have an aunt in Pennsylvania who used to sew beautiful quilts, each tiny stitch done by hand.
Again, thanks for stopping by, and take good care of yourself!
Well, Holy Busy Bee Batman !!! No WONDER you're POOPED!!! I think you and "Robin, that Boy Wonder" should definately sneak away by yourselves!!!
ReplyDelete(P.S. ... love that picture with the nose holding and laughing!!! that's a classic!!)
Yes you are the Busy Little Quilter! Glad you were able to regenerate!
