Thanksgiving Day

Over the hill

and through the woods

to Terry's house we went.

.

A lot of people think Terry and I live next door to each other. Terry lives in another little town, in the country, on a farm that overlooks the city. It's beautiful there. See the cows in the lower left hand corner? Aren't they cute?
I'm glad Terry doesn't live next door to me because I love driving to her house seeing all the barns on the way. I envision them all to look like this:

Terry has big plans for her barn to look quilty.

I want a barn! Monica knows how much I want one!

All of Terry's grand kids (all eight of them under the age of 8. If mine were there it would be 12 grand kids under the age of 8. Whew!) and kids were there. Her nieces, Mom, and grandmother were there, too. We've been a part of Terry's family for a lot of years, which is really sweet since we don't have family here.

Terry and her mom cook the turkey and all the trimmings. I bring the corn pudding

and the chocolate chip cookies, my specialty.

Okay, so now my brother, Ray, and my sister, Glynda are wondering why I didn't send any their way. It's okay. I'll make you some when I come to see you at Christmas!
Every one went home with their own little baggie stuffed full of chocolate chip cookies. All the kids (big and little) were so happy!

Terry's daughter made these cute little sugar cookies decorated to look like turkeys. They were a big hit, too!

I know Terry's kids think she and I are crazy. We do have fun together, and we come up with some fun ideas every once in while, such as this: One of our friends in our sewing group is moving away. How dare she!!! To help her remember us, Terry gave us each a pumpkin pattern that she designed. We were to decorate the pumpkin to look like us. Here we are posing with our pumpkins.

I don' know. What do you think? Do you see a resemblance here? Polka dot coffee cup and all!

Funny thing is I made the pumpkin block with the polka dotted coffee cup before I bought the polka dotted coffee cup! I noticed it when I was editing the photos last night!

So, I hope you had a nice Thanksgiving. I'm venturing out in a little while to see the frenzy going on with Christmas shopping. I'll leave you with this:

Steve thought I looked all cute looking Suzi Homemaker, so he shot this photo of me in the kitchen.

So, since I'm all Suzie Homemaker, I'll share my recipe for my corn pudding

Corn Pudding
1 can cream style corn
1 can whole kernel corn
1 small (8 oz) sour cream
1 pkg Jiffy corn bread mix
1 stick of butter (I only used 1/2 stick)
salt and pepper

Mix above ingredients together. Melt butter in a casserole dish. Pour melted butter into corn mixture. Pour in casserole. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour.

Have a fun day!

Amanda

  5. That barn is amazing! Though I'm disappointed to learn it's not yours. WHAT... no barn yet? Maybe you need to have a one on one with Santa. I will vouch that you've been good this year.

I love the shots of you with the cookies! You are just so adorable, Amanda. xoxo-m
